Ms. Roberts is one of those authors who’s always been a go-to choice for me as her characters are fully-drawn and sympathetic, her plots well-structured, and the endings satisfying. For those who read a lot, I’d also point out that her books are well-written with excellent grammar and editing (something one can no longer take for granted).
I recommend, in particular, the murder mysteries/suspense novels set in a NYC that was about 60 years ahead when the series began. It’s now up to almost sixty books but the characters remain fresh, each murder (and murderer) is different, and it’s great fun to look at the development of the cast over the series.

This charming Nora Roberts title is one of her classics, originally published in 1986, and it features an enemies-to-lovers romance set at Christmas. The Witness is another of Nora Roberts’s thrilling romantic suspense novels — and her 200th novel. For 12 years, Abigail Lowery has kept to herself on the edge of a small town in the Ozarks. She designs security systems for a living and doesn’t get too close to anyone — and she definitely doesn’t get involved in romances. But her strange behavior has caught the attention of police chief Brooks …Show More ›
