UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A popular French bakery and cafe is opening its second location on the Upper West Side after its first venture into the neighborhood earlier this fall was met with overwhelming success.

Maman, which has been dubbed the best cookie maker in New York City and has received praise from Oprah Winfrey, will open a new location by the end of March at 152 Columbus Avenue (between West 66th and 67th streets).

Maman opened its first location on the UWS at the end of October at 429 Amsterdam Avenue (between West 80th and 81st streets).

The new opening was announced on Facebook at the beginning of March by the Lincoln Square Business Improvement District.

“Exciting news! French cafe and bakery, Maman will be opening a new location at 152 Columbus Avenue right next to Kiehl’s,” the BID wrote.

Let’s go!

It added that the new cafe location will have a similar menu as its other NYC locations, including the croissant perdu sandwich or the spinach, feta, and artichoke quiche, plus soups, salads, and pastries.

Maman also serves up parfaits, omelets, coffees, teas, and an assortment of gluten-free options.

While it is no doubt a controversial subject, Maman was called maybe “the best chocolate chip cookie in NYC” by the publication Secret NYC.

None other than Orpah Winfrey put a box of cookies from Maman as one of her favorite things to gift in 2017. The French cafe has also received stellar reviews from publications such as Food & Wine.

The new location will be Maman’s 11th in the city.

The Maman location on Amsterdam Avenue routinely has long lines on mornings and weekends and hopefully, the opening of a new neighborhood location will help with the crowding.

Maman has not announced the exact day it will open its second Upper West Side location.
