UWS ZIP Code Has Lowest 7-Day COVID Rate In New York City: Data
The UWS is significantly below the city’s overall seven-day COVID rate, with one local ZIP code posting the lowest positivity number in NYC.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A ZIP code on the Upper West Side has the lowest seven-day COVID-19 rate in New York City, according to the latest data.
The UWS’ 10024 ZIP code, which sits in the heart of the neighborhood, has a 1.06 percent positive rate for the week from Sept. 13 to 19.
It is the lowest in the city.
For comparison, the highest COVID-19 percent positive rate during the same period is 7.76 percent in Borough Park, Brooklyn.
While the other two ZIP codes on the Upper West Side, 10025 and 10023, don’t have the lowest rates in the whole city, the areas are also posting case counts significantly lower than the average seen across the five boroughs.

The overall average on the Upper West Side for the most recent seven-day COVID-19 average is 1.31 percent. The figure is far below the citywide average of 3.05 percent during the same period and below Manhattan’s average of 1.97 percent.
Meanwhile, the Upper West Side remains one of the city’s most heavily vaccinated neighborhoods as 79 percent of all residents have gotten at least one shot of the vaccine, and 74 percent are fully vaccinated.
That’s a 5 percent jump in the number of partially vaccinated locals and a 4 percent increase in the number of fully vaccinated Upper West Siders since the middle of July.
