One advantage that Apple has over Google’s Android’s devices is that a large majority of Apple’s run the latest operating system. Further, Apple’s OS is consistent across all of its products differing only according to the equipment features. There isn’t any parallel to Android’s modification by each device maker in its universe. Users value the ability to use any Apple device immediately if they’ve ever used any other Apple device. Not only that, but they can count on Apple to do its best to update the software when required.
To put it more simply, I have been handed smart phones in the past made by different makers and found that the most basic of apps — email — was not in the same location on each phone or even accessible in the same way. That’s nuts. Samsung and Google seem to be the top manufacturers of Android devices at the moment but I have no idea if they run the same version of Android. My guess would be “no.”
