This very graphics-heavy story gives a lot of data on what types of household expenses have increased and which have decreased. Oddly enough, despite a dog being in one of the illustrations, there’s no mention of the huge increase in households with a pet or who have added more pets.
Another obvious omission (altho admittedly my viewpoint is skewed by my own habits and those of my friends) is the increase in library circulation as demonstrated by NYC’s limits on number of holds and number of items that can be taken out of circulation at any one time. I would bet that the number of books sold — all aside from the large number about Trump — has also soared.
But I guess they can’t cover everything.
