Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston’s Fast Times Reunion Was Transcendently Steamy
“Hi, Brad. You know how cute I always thought you were.”

On Thursday night, Jimmy Kimmel brought together a slew of stars for a Zoom reading of Fast Times at Ridgemont High. While there were a million crazy things happening in it—from Morgan Freeman narrating Cameron Crowe’s salacious script to Shia LaBeouf seemingly hot-boxing live in his car to really capture Spicoli’s energy—there was only one thing everyone could truly focus on: the reunion of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, who played Brad and Linda. The once-married couple recreated the movie’s famous pool scene, nine months after their surprisingly sweet SAG Awards reunion.
In the scene, Brad goes off to the bathroom and fantasizes (we’re putting it mildly) about his sister’s friend, Linda, who’s out swimming by the pool. The script is absurdly horny—so horny that Freeman broke character—but Aniston played it cool, while Pitt grinned and laughed his way through it, appearing game yet a little (a lot) embarrassed. Aniston read her lines with a raised brow and a cool remove: “Hi, Brad. You know how cute I always thought you were,” she recited. “I think you’re so sexy. Will you come to me?”
Pitt, bless him, blushed through the scene as the rest of the cast—including Julia Roberts, Matthew McConaughey, Sean Penn, and Henry Golding—dissolved into embarrassed laughs. The scene, as fans of the film well know, ends with Linda walking in on Brad in the bathroom, instantly dissolving his fantasy and embarrassing Brad beyond belief. It’s surreal to see Pitt and Aniston play out this scene, but there’s also a kind of poetic justice to it all. After years of being painted as a lonely divorcée in the wake of their 2005 separation, Aniston gets to have a little fun at Pitt’s expense, for once!
Prior to the reading, the duo exchanged niceties that will launch the tabloids into hyperdrive. The pair made it a point to say hi to each other specifically, chummily calling each other by their last names. “Hi, Aniston!” “Hi, Pitt!” “How you doing?” “Good, honey, how are you doing?” “I’m all right.” So professional! So pleasant!
Pitt and Aniston soft-stepped their way to this reunion beginning in January, after crossing paths backstage at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, where they both picked up awards. Aniston spoke warmly of her ex in a later interview, saying it was “sweet” that Pitt had watched her acceptance speech backstage. “We’ve all grown up together,” Aniston said. “We really have. It just feels like a really fun night to celebrate and cheer each other on and keep working.”
