Announcing Book Passage’s New Conversations with Authors

Bill and I have been overwhelmed by the kindness of friends, customers, and authors who have reached out in recent weeks with concern for us and for our stores. We’re so grateful that they share our love for Book Passage, for our staff, and for our community of local book lovers. Now, with our community’s help, I’m inviting you to be part of a new, wonderful way for us to keep connected until we can re-open our San Francisco and Corte Madera locations.
Book Passage’s new, free online event series—which we’re calling, appropriately enough, Conversations with Authors—begins this weekend!

I very much hope you’ll join us as we re-create as best we can something we have always been proud to offer our community: intimate conversations with authors who are as committed to good ideas, to books, and to Book Passage as we are. Some of our favorite people—including long-time friends Anne Lamott, Isabel Allende, Cara Black, Khaled Hosseini, Dave Eggers, and Jason Rezaian—have volunteered to help get this new online event series started. They’ll each appear live in conversation in the coming weeks, sharing thoughts about what it means to be living through these times, and what it means to stay close to the people and the ideas that connect us.

I hope that you’ll take a moment to learn more and to register for this free event series. Learn More Register once, and you’ll be sure to receive early updates about every upcoming online event. You’re guaranteed a seat at every session, and you’ll be invited to help shape each session by prioritizing in advance the issues we discuss.

To begin: Two free, live conversations this weekend with two favorite, long-time friends—Anne Lamott and Isabel Allende. Please join us. We look forward to seeing you then!—Elaine.
