If you’re interested in reading about what’s going on in one of our premier National Parks, I recommend “American Wolves: A True Story of Survival and Obsession in the West” by Nate Blakeslee. The nonfiction book follows several of the wolf packs reintroduced into the park as well as the lives of the many people who spend their lives observing them from a distance with highly sophisticated equipment. The volume includes what seems to be a fairly even-handed discussion of the competing viewpoints on the value of reintroducing wolves and the consequences of doing so.
