Shelter animals now have a playlist curated by the Philadelphia Orchestra’s Director

One of my favorite departed felines used to move close to the radio whenever I was playing jazz. One of my current cats absolutely loves Bach and sits next to me on the piano bench during practice or lessons. My experience is that cats enjoy music and find it soothing and as important to their day as it is for me.

This article, which won’t copy for reasons unknown, is about a HUGE playlist put together by Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Director of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Huge here is defined as 326 tracks for 34 hours which can be put on an endless loop. The playlist includes his explanation for adding each track to the list. For example, Chopin Nocturnes are ideal for catnapping.

The playlist is available on both Apple Music and Spotify. The concept is that happier and calmer cats will find forever homes more easily.
