As you know, I’m thoroughly immersed in the Apple universe, mostly happily. That includes using Apple Pay from my phone or watch as it appears to be one of the most private and secure methods of payment. Now, Apple Card is being offered (altho not yet available) as a thoroughly integrated method of payment that REQUIRES the use of an iPhone. To me, there’s a difference between a voluntary participation in Apple’s world and a mandatory one.
Of course, this effect of getting an Apple Card has been noticed by every commentator. Similar, but not quite as strongly connected, is the impact of adopting the paid Apple News service. Am attaching a few links for you to read lengthier, more detailed observations on what tying yourself to the card could mean.
