We’re already well into a mass extinction of everything BUT humans

When talking about extinctions of life, many think first of the large mammals, many of which are already either extinct or very close to. Anyone who enjoys eating fish is well aware of the attempts to control the overfishing of marine food sources thru limited seasons or limited takes. The more thoughtful person might also think of the lack of plant diversity (including crops) which places almost total reliance on a few crops that could be vulnerable to heat, water, disease, and other stresses. But how many of us think of the incredibly rapid decrease in the bird and insect population — and the consequences.
