Audiobooks can be great if you travel frequently or do mindless tasks that don’t require much from your brain. But acquiring them can be costly. Yes, you can find them in your library and even check them out online with the Libby or Overdrive apps, but that can take time and is more complicated than many prefer.
If you’re a Kindle device or app user, you have a great alternative. I highly recommend the Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited books program. The maximum cost is $9.99 a month but there are huge sales on Amazon Prime Day ($6/month if you prepay for two years), and you’ll never run out of reading material.
How does this relate to audiobooks? Many Kindle Unlimited books include the audio FREE. You can listen to them by using the Audible app which is the best listening format I’ve yet seen. This benefit isn’t available for every book but the audio is included for a wide range (mostly fiction). Check it out.
