WhatsApp will stop working on some phones from January 1.

The messenger app will no longer be supported by certain smartphone models on December 31. 

WhatsApp will not be available on devices that are not running iOS 9 or Android 4.0.3 operating systems starting January 2021.

If you have iPhones 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6S, all you have to do to get WhatsApp is to update your software to iOS 9.
