Facebook bought WhatsApp, an encrypted texting/messaging app used by over a billion people. Its plan to monetize the purchase by adding ads drove WhatsApp’s founder to resign. Now it turns out he was not the only one to resist and ads are off the table.
Very expensive purchase if Facebook can’t turn its use into a cash flow.
