those of us who love independent and small movies grieved when the landlord required the Lincoln Plaza Cinema at W 62nd Street and Broadway to close. This neighborhood is activist tho, and the New Plaza Cinema (which doesn’t yet have a permanent home) is regularly showing movies at the NY Institute of Technology auditorium between W 61st and W 62nd Streets on Broadway.
Four movies will be shown on Sunday, June 2nd. They are:
1:00 pm – Be Natural: The Untold Story of Alice Guy-Blaché
3:15 pm – Farinelli
5:45 pm – Amazing Grace
7:45 pm – High Life
Full descriptions of the movies, including trailers, can be found at http://www.newplazacinema.com. I recommend buying tickets online as the box office accepts only cash and opens only 20 minutes before the movie. (This is a non-profit, volunteer organization.
