I’ve gradually moved from the term “global warming” to “climate change” even tho many of the obvious effects relate to heat records, drought, and warming of the ocean. The problems of climate change can show themselves as heat, but they can also emerge as changes or extremes. Also, unfortunately, the term “global warming” helps the uninformed or intentionally ignorant babble about how the Emperor does too have clothes every time it snows.
This graphics-packed article does point out these issues but is also packed with interesting trivia about the beginning of the concerns about human influence on the planet. It contains far more than a history of how and why the term “global warming” is gradually moving to “climate change.” Highly recommended for context on the people who should receive credit for seeing the problem early.
