Humans aren’t the only life that needs fresh water — rice food crops at risk from salinization of ground water

Yet another food problem — rice is a major source of nutrition for half the world but the conditions in its primary growing areas are deteriorating. Now the heat and drought are allowing salt to come into the water sources for rice crops. Not a small problem nor will it be easy to solve.
