“Fast Food Nation” was first published in 2001 during the relatively early days of focusing on the environmental and human costs of factory farming and other bulk production of food. Eric Schlosser focused on both. By the time I’d finished his book the first time, I’d decided to never again eat in a restaurant with (somewhat arbitrary number here) more than five locations. I’ve done pretty well with keeping to that. I’ll be surprised if you don’t have a similar reaction. Nothing else should need to be said to push you into picking up the book. By this time, it’s in abundant supply at your library as well as being free to read if you’re a Kindle Unlimited member at Amazon.
